Andrew R. Novo is Professor of Strategic Studies at the National Defense University in Washington, DC. He earned a D.Phil and M.Phil from the University of Oxford and an A.B. from Princeton University. A scholar of ancient and modern Mediterranean history and strategic studies, Dr. Novo also teaches as an adjunct at Georgetown’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and is a non-resident fellow with the Center for European Policy’s Transatlantic Defense and Security program. He is the author of numerous academic articles and four books, most recently: The EOKA Cause: Nationalism and the Failure of Cypriot Enosis (2021) and Restoring Thucydides: Testing Familiar Lessons and Deriving New Ones (2020) with Dr. Jay Parker. His next book, an edited volume with Dr. Elie Baranets, Transatlantic Relations in an Era of Renewed Great Power Competition, will be published by the University of Michigan Press in 2024. He speaks French and Modern Greek and is conversant in Italian.
