Vassilis Monastiriotis is Professor of Political Economy at the European Institute, London School of Economics and holder of the Eleftherios Venizelos Chair in Contemporary Greek Studies at LSE. He is Affiliated Professor at the Department of Geography and Environment, LSE, and Director of the LSE Centre for Research on Contemporary Greece and Cyprus (Hellenic Observatory). He has expertise in the fields of labour economics, political economy, industrial policy and economic development and relevant policy experience working with various national and international organisations. In 2018-2021 he served as member at the Independent Experts Committee on the Minimum Wage in Greece. He is Co-editor of Spatial Economic Analysis (Taylor & Francis) and member of the Scientific Council for Social Sciences of the National Council of Research Technology and Innovation of Greece and various advisory and editorial boards.
