Geoffrey Pyatt is a newly retired 35 year Foreign Service veteran, who most recently served as Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources.  As ENR Assistant Secretary he was the United States' chief energy diplomat, leading a global team devoted to leveraging America's energy resources in furtherance of U.S. national security and that of our allies and partners.  In this capacity Ambassador Pyatt:

● Led U.S. diplomacy to mobilize international support for Ukraine’s energy resilience and reduce Russia’s energy revenues.
● Advanced energy partnerships with key allies and partners including Japan, Korea, India, Australia, Brazil, Nigeria, Angola and the European Union.
● Directed U.S. diplomatic efforts to diversify supply chains for key energy minerals and clean energy technologies.

Last year, Ambassador Pyatt was nominated by President Biden for promotion to Career Ambassador, the highest rank in America's Foreign Service.  He served overseas as U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine from 2013-2016 and Greece from 2016-2022, representing Presidents Obama, Trump and Biden as those countries navigated severe political and economical crises.  He has also worked extensively on India, including three stints at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi (first in 1992) and a 2010-2013 tenure as Princiapl Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia. Ambassador Pyatt has a long record of work with the U.S. military in multiple theatres, and last year was awarded the Secretary of Defense Meritorious Civilian Service Medal (DoD’s second highest civilian honor).
