Dame DeAnne is an international economist who was a founder member of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee. She has chaired the Councils of University College London (UCL) and Chatham House (the Royal Institute of International Affairs). She holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California and her early career was with the World Bank where she worked on Asia and East Africa. After moving to the UK, she became chief economist at Shell and then at British Airways.
In her non-executive career Dame DeAnne has been a corporate board member of BP, Deloitte UK, ICE Benchmark Administration, Jones Lang LaSalle, Lloyds Bank, Roche and Serco. She has also served on the international advisory boards of Temasek in Singapore and the China Investment Corporation. She is currently a Distinguished Fellow at Chatham House, a member of their Panel of Senior Advisors and an Advisory Board member of The Rock Creek Group, a Washington-based investment firm. She is a dual UK/US citizen.
