Georgios Ι. Pappas is the German correspondent for ERT (Greek public broadcaster), RIK (Cyprus public broadcaster) and writes correspondent reports for the newspaper TA NEA.
He is the acting chairman of the Association of Foreign Press (VAP) in Berlin.
In between, he worked as a columnist for the "Berliner Morgenpost" and as a correspondent for the Athens news agency ANA.
From 2003 to 2010 he was news editor and moderator for the Greek Program of Deutsche Welle (DW) in Bonn.
Previously (1987-2002), he was a news editor and presenter at the Greek Program of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation (BR) in Munich as part of the native language radio programs of the ARD.
He graduated in political science in Athens in 1983, after which he continued studying political science at the LMU in Munich.
He was born in the northern Greek city of Grevena in 1960, is married and has two sons aged 29 and 25.
