Vassilis Kontozamanis, former Alternate Minister of Health in Greece, embraces a profound record in the fields of international healthcare environment, policy and management, human resources, economics, strategic planning, financing and outcomes measurement.
From July 2019 to September 2021, as Deputy and Alternate Minister overseeing the healthcare system, he played a catalytic role in successfully managing the pandemic crisis in Greece.
Vassilis led the design and implementation of key structural reforms, addressing the complex challenges of building a modern, resilient healthcare system.
His career also includes leadership roles in the pharmaceutical sector, as Executive Vice President and President of the National Medicines Organization (EOF), and as a member of the Management Board of the European Medicines Agency (EMA). Additionally, he has served as Chief Executive Officer of the 1st Regional Health Authority (Attica), Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, and Advisor for Health Affairs to the Prime Minister of Greece.
