Evangelos (Vangelis) Floros is the Head of Unit for Infrastructures at EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. Within this role he oversees the activities related to supercomputing infrastructure and AI Factories development of the Joint Undertaking. His responsibilities include the overview of system procurements, the selection process of AI Factories, the monitoring of operational systems, as well as aspects of the JU Access Policy and in particular the implementation of the peer-review access process of the JU. Vangelis joined European Commission DG CNECT/C2 in 2017, where he helped establish the foundations of the Joint Undertaking. In 2019 he moved to the newly established EuroHPC JU to support the latter’s transition to an autonomous entity. Vangelis holds a BSc and MSc in Computer Science from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with emphasis on Distributed and Parallel Computing systems.
