Konstantinos Pouliakas is an Expert on Skills and Labour Markets at Cedefop. He leads the Agency's Skills and Work team, facilitating research projects on the impact of digitalisation and AI on the future of work. He has been principal researcher of Cedefop's skill mismatch project. His proudest achievement is the development of three waves of the European Skills and Jobs survey, while he has also recently designed Cedefop's AI skills survey and the European VET Teacher Survey.
He has been scientific advisor and author on skills anticipation and skill mismatch for the European Commission, ILO, World Economic Forum and the Greek government. He has been member of several technical support programmes focused on building the labour market forecasting and skills matching capacity of EU countries.
He has extensive experience working at both academic institutions (University of Aberdeen, University of Cyprus, Universita Degli Studi Roma TRE) and policy organisations (Bank of Greece, HM Treasury, IMF). He is Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen and IZA research fellow.
He undertook his postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford (St. Antony's College) and completed the Scottish Doctoral Programme in Economics. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals of economics and education science.
