President of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Greece
Ιoannis Masoutis is the Chairman and CEO, as well as one of the principal shareholders, of the family-owned company Diamantis Masoutis S.A. supermarket chain, founded in 1976 by his father, Diamantis Masoutis. He joined the company in 1990 and, between 1990 and 1998, was trained in retail management. Since 2009, he has taken on managerial responsibilities, and in 2015, as part of the second generation, he assumed leadership of the company.
He has a track record of significant business achievements and has led major growth strategies, positioning the company among the top nationwide while maintaining its leading position in Northern Greece. Throughout its growth, he has preserved the Greek identity and the family-oriented character of Diamantis Masoutis S.A. supermarket chain.
His distinguished career and recognition by the business world led him to seek institutional roles, reaching the highest level of the Chamber institution.
In 2017 he was elected President of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) to serve a 7-year term in office. In December 2024 he was re-elected President of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is serving his second term in office.
In 2018, he was elected 1st Vice-President of the Union of Hellenic Chambers (UHCC).
In February 2022, he was elected President of the Union of Hellenic Chambers (UHCC).
In 2023 he was elected member of the General Council of the Bank of Greece and Vice-President of the Greek Super Market Association.
He has been member of the Board of Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2006, a member of the Association of Greek Food Enterprises since 2008, a member of the Greek Research Institute of Retail Consumer Goods since 2011, and vice-chairman of the board of the Olympic Museum of Thessaloniki since 2024.
