o Served as German Ambassador to Yemen, residing in Amman
o Head of Division, European Foreign and Security Policy and Deputy Ambassador at the Permanent Representation of the Federal Republic of Germany to the European Union in Brussels
o First assignment was Tunisia, later Deputy Head of the Middle East Division in the
Federal Foreign Ministry in Berlin and another posting abroad as head of the branch office
in Mazar-E-Sharif
o 1992: joining the Federal Foreign Office
