Mr Konstantinos Vorgiazidis was born in 1968. He studied Electrical Engineering at the Polytechnic School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has been running a technical office in Veria since 1993. Having grown up in the building where his father Charalambos Vorgiazidis, a general surgeon, operated a clinic, he learned from a young age what human need means and was taught the virtues of contributing to society. He put these lessons at the service of his fellow citizens since the first day he became involved in public affairs.
Mr Vorgiazidis became involved in local government in 2010, when he was elected as a Municipal Councilor. He was initially appointed Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning and Environment, while from 2013 to August 2014 he served as Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning and Energy Efficiency.
He was elected Mayor in the 2014, 2019 and 2023 elections. He was a member of the Board of Directors in the Regional Association of Municipalities of Central Macedonia between 2014-2023 and a member of the committees in the Central Association of Municipalities of Greece for:
- Spatial Planning, Infrastructure and Environment Committee 2014-2019
- Institutions and Transparency Committee 2019-2023
- Co-financed Programs Committee during the current term.
With a dynamic presence and active interest for the future of his region, Mr Vorgiazidis provided solutions to key issues such as waste management. He served repeatedly as President of the Regional Department of Imathia Prefecture in the Hellenic Association of Graduated Mechanical and Electrical Engineers. He was elected to the delegation of the Technical Chamber of Greece-Department of Central Macedonia and to the Technical Chamber of Greece -Prefectural Committee of Imathia.
