Elisavet (Betty) Chatzinikolaou is a legal expert with a long-standing presence in the Public Tourism Sector, having served for 35 years at the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), where she was a senior executive. During her tenure at the GNTO, she held various responsible positions and specialized in tourism legislation, research and development, and marketing. She represented the GNTO at numerous tourism exhibitions and conferences, as well as in key EU bodies, such as the European Commission’s Tourism Advisory Committee, among others.
She also served as a tourism consultant for the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE) and the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCH). From April 1, 2015, until November 2015, she was the President of the GNTO.
Following her resignation from the GNTO, she has continued to monitor developments in the tourism sector while working exclusively on a voluntary basis. Today, she serves as the President of the Institutional Framework Council of the Hellenic Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage (ELLET).
