Christos Kremmydas is Professor of Αncient Greek History at Royal Holloway, University of London and Head of the Classics Department.
He has been awarded prestigious research fellowships by the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, the Humboldt Foundation and the International Society for the History of Rhetoric.
His research falls in the areas of Greek rhetoric and oratory, as well as social, political and legal history. The representation of ethos and rhetorical strategies of deception are two areas of more recent research activity. He has published the Commentary on Demosthenes’ Against Leptines (Oxford University Press 2012), co-edited the volumes Hellenistic Oratory: Continuity and Change (Oxford University Press 2013), Profession and Performance: Aspects of Oratory in the Greco-Roman World (BICS Supplements, Oxford University Press, 2013), Friendship in Ancient Greek Thought and Literature (Brill, 2023), and several journals and chapters in journals and edited volumes.
