Philippe Tibi has spent most of his career in technology and banking. He worked for 26 years at UBS, where he was Country Head for France/Investment banking. Since 2018, he has led the “initiative Tibi”, whose purpose is to finance VCs and global tech funds in France, on behalf of the French government. 37 LPs have now pledged €13bn in technology asset classes. France is now the leading EU go to place to invest in technology. In the initiative, over 110 VC/growth equity funds manage a total of € 25+bn, 30 Global tech public equity funds manage a total of € 15bn. We anticipate that by the end of 2026, VCs and Global tech funds will manage € 55-70 bn. Philippe is a professor of economics at Ecole Polytechnique (Paris), Shanghai Jiatong and AUEB Athens.
