Susanne Raab is the former Federal Minister for Women, Family, Integration, and Media of the Republic of Austria and has been a Member of the Austrian National Council since October 2024. Born in 1984 in Vöcklabruck, Austria, she holds dual degrees in Law and Psychology from the University of Innsbruck, where she also earned a Doctorate in Law. She began her professional career in academia as a University Assistant at the University of Innsbruck before transitioning to public administration, serving as a legal expert at the Austrian Ministry of the Interior. Her expertise in migration and integration led to key leadership roles, including Head of the Integration Coordination Department at the Ministry of the Interior and the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration, and Foreign Affairs. In 2017, she was appointed Austria’s youngest Director General, further solidifying her leadership in public administration. In addition, she contributed to academia as a Lecturer at multiple university institutions. From 2020 to 2025, Raab served as Austria’s Federal Minister for Women and Integration. In 2021, her portfolio was expanded to include Family and Youth, and she later assumed responsibility for Media Affairs, focusing on media diversity, press freedom, and digital transformation. Since 2024, as a Member of the National Council, she continues to advocate for policies related to integration, national security, and constitutional law. Raab remains actively engaged in policy advisory and academic discussions, with a particular focus on migration and integration affairs.
