Mary Hatzakou was born and raised in Thessaloniki. She spent most of her professional career at MEVGAL, the company founded by her father. Since 1979, she has worked in various positions, such as Accounting, Sales, Marketing, Public Relations. In 2001, she took over as President & Managing Director of the Company until 2006, when she stepped down.
In 2006, she was elected Secretary and Member of the Board of Directors of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce & Industry and has also served as a Member of the Board of Directors of Chipita company and participated in the Management of the AROGI Rehabilitation Center.
She returned to MEVGAL in 2016, where she now holds the position of Chairwoman.
She is an elected Member of the Administrative Committee of the Federation of Greek Industries (FGI).
In addition to her business activities, Mrs. Hatzakou has developed intense social action in organizations and structures that support vulnerable groups (Chariseio Nursing Home, MAZI Social Grocery, ELEPAP).
