Giannis Maltezos was born in 1970 in Argos. He was elected Mayor of the Municipality of Argos-Mycenae for the first time in 2023.He holds a law degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is Member of the Nafplio Bar Association, admitted to the Supreme Court. He has been practicing litigation law since 1995. He is President of the Peloponnese Regional Council since January 2022 and has served as Deputy Regional Governor of Argolis from September 1, 2019, until the end of 2021. He is married to Martha Giannatou, also a lawyer, and father of two children.
