Panagiotis Papageorgiou has over 30 years of experience in senior management, including a decade as CEO of an American FMCG multinational overseeing operations across four countries and 17 years as General Manager in Retail Banking & Head of SME Banking Strategy.
From 2021 to early 2025, he served as Director of Innovation at the Hellenic Development Bank (HDB), where he focused on fostering innovation and supporting the international expansion of Greek entrepreneurship. He currently serves as an Executive Board Member of the Hellenic Center for Defence Innovation (HCDI) overseeing financial and investment tools and contributing to the development of the defense innovation ecosystem.
He is actively involved in investment committees evaluating business plans and technology transfer projects. Additionally, he is a member of the National Sectoral Scientific Council (NSSC) for Technology Transfer & Intellectual Property, which advises the National Council for Research, Technology, and Innovation (NCRTI).
His extensive management experience includes serving on the Boards of private companies, notably 10 years within the bank assurance sector and 13 years with innovative Greek consumer goods companies that have established strong domestic and international distribution networks.
He holds a BSc in Business Administration from the American College of Greece and an MBA in Finance & Marketing from the University of Wales (Cardiff Business School).
