Ioannis Tsimaris was born on August 20th, in 1972 in Komotini.
He graduated from the Medical School of Ioannina and he specialized in Urology.
Phd holder in Medicine with a thesis entitled “The activity of Hypericum Perforatum in Bladder Cancer”.
From 2005 to 2023 he worked as Urologist Surgeon in the Department of Urology at the “Hatzikosta”General Hospital in Ioannina where he also served as Consultant for four years (2019-2023).
He is member of the Hellenic Urological Association (HUA) and the European Association of Urology (EAU).
In April 2023 he was Acting Mayor of Ioannina as the first elected member of the Municipal Party of “Ioannina,Nea Epohi”.
From January 2022 to January 2023, he was Deputy Mayor of Endowments of Ioannina. He also served as President of the Non-Profit Civil Law Partnership “Merimna” for four years and Vice-President of the Organization of Social Protection -Solidarity and & Preschool Education “Okpapa” (2019-2023).
In the elections of 21st May and the run-off elections of 25th June, Ioannis Tsimaris was elected Member of Parliament for Ioannina.
He is the Parliamentary Officer of the Health Sector and currently Deputy Secretary to the Parliamentary Group of PASOK-Kinima Allagis.
Ηe also participates as a member in the following Parliamentary Committees:
- Special Committee of the Regions (2nd Vice-President)
- Standing Committee on Social Affairs
- Special Standing Committee on the Monitoring of the Social Security System
Concerning the Sector of the Greek Parliamentary Diplomacy, he participates as a Secretary in the Friendship Groups of Poland and Argentina and as a Member in the Friendship Group of India.
