Nikos Papandreou is an economist
He is currently a Member of the European Parliament affiliated to the Socialists and Democrats (S&D), Member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON), Member of the Delegation for relations with the United States (D-US) and Member of the Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (DMED)
He is also substitute Member of the Committee on Culture and Education (CULT) and substitute Member of the Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries.
He is an author, columnist and he worked as an Academic Lecturer on Economics for several years and at the World Bank.
Nikos Papandreou has written ten books translated in English, German and Arabic.
He participates in the informal network “Everyday Citizen” of the Party of European Socialists, he is co-founder of the Committee for the Conservation of the Christian Community in the Middle East (USA), Member of the Council of World Leadership Brookings and co-organizer of Symi Symposium.
