Marian Wendt has served as Head of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation’s Office for Greece and Cyprus since October 2022. A graduate in administrative science and Master of Laws (LL.M.), he was a Member of the German Bundestag from 2013 to 2021. During his parliamentary tenure, he focused on migration, civil protection, and digitalization, and held key roles including Chairman of the Petitions Committee and member of the Committee on Internal Affairs.
Throughout his political and foundation work, Wendt has maintained a strong European focus, advocating for closer cooperation and the joint strengthening of the European Union. He has been active in numerous KAS events as a speaker and delegation participant.
Prior to his parliamentary service, he worked as a research assistant to MP Manfred Kolbe and interned with U.S. Congressman Russ Carnahan in Washington, D.C. He is a trained THW civil protection volunteer and former paramedic with Berlin’s emergency services. For his commitment during the 2021 Ahr valley flood disaster, he was honored by the German Federal Minister of the Interior. Born in 1985 in Torgau, he was awarded the Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
