Kostas Salvaras is Area Vice President South-East Europe Cluster, managing one of the most important regions of Philip Morris International, which includes Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Cyprus, Malta, Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Kostas Salvaras joined the company in 1996 in Greece – he was 26 years old and wanted to start a career in sales. From a trainee position in the Sales Department, he became Marketing Director in 2003 and then, after two years, he was appointed Sales and Distribution Director for Greece, Cyprus and Malta. From 2010 to 2023, he held several important positions in Russia and Japan, such as Area Vice President for the South of Russia, General Director for Ukraine, Caucasus and Moldova, and in 2022, President of Philip Morris Russia. In 2023, Kostas Salvaras was appointed Vice President for smoke-free products in the US, responsible for category management and commercial operations of inhalable products in the US. He has returned to Europe since September 2024 as Area Vice President South-East Europe Cluster, being in charge of 12 markets. Together with the local teams will take important steps on the company’s journey toward a smoke-free future and provide ground-breaking alternatives that meet the changing needs of millions of smokers.
