Major General PANOUSIS Georgios, is the Director of the 6th Branch of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (HNDGS) since May 2024, responsible for Transformation, Innovation, and Defense Technology. He graduated from the Hellenic Army Officers Academy (Evelpidon) in 1990 and he holds a degree in Civil Engineering, from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He has attended all Army and Joint Military career training courses, as well as allied training programs.
He has served in military units, commands and staff positions for more than 34 years, across all levels of the hierarchy according to his ranks. His military experience includes, serving in executive positions related to the study, design and supervision of infrastructures, environmental protection, project evaluation and constructions. He also served in international peacekeeping missions. As a Brigadier General, he was assigned as the Director of Support and Sustainment Directorate of the Hellenic Army and later as the Director of Management at the NATO Joint Forces Command in Naples, Italy (JFCNP). As a Major General, he served as Director of the Military Engineers and Construction Unit (MOMKA) and as Deputy Commander of the Construction and Natural Disaster Response Military Command.
He is married and a father of two daughters.
