Javier López-González leads the OECD’s work on digital trade. His research focuses on analysing the challenges and opportunities of digital trade;investigating regulatory approaches to cross-border data flows and data localisation (and their economic impacts);understanding the implications of new technologies for trade (e.g. additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence);and identifying potential economic costs and benefits of digital connectivity and digital trade policies on trade. He has also done extensive work on Global Value Chains. Javier holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Sussex.
