Paul Dans, an attorney in private practice, was formerly the Director of Project 2025 at The Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. where he conceived and led a comprehensive effort to organize policy and personnel recommendations for the next U.S. presidential administration.
Prior to leading Project 2025, Dans held several positions in the first Trump Administration, serving as Chief of Staff and White House Liaison at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management which is the human resources manager for the U.S. Civil Service’s 2.2 million workers, and as a Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. In January 2021, President Trump appointed him to serve as Chairman of the National Capital Planning Commission.
Experienced in high-stakes commercial litigation, Dans is known for his seminal role in the Chevron Ecuador litigation where his work unraveled a $27 billion fraud against Chevron. His 20 years of practice include work at several large international law firms in New York City from 1997-2012, prior to founding his own law firm, the Law Office of Paul E. Dans, P.C. His firm, based in New York and Florida, represents and advise companies and countries on matters involving the U.S. Government, as well as on private sector disputes. Dans received his undergraduate degree in Economics and graduate degree in City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. He resides in Charleston, South Carolina USA with his wife and four children.
