Nikolaos Karafyllidis is a distinguished finance executive with over a decade of experience in strategic business partnering roles within the fast-moving consumer goods and pharmaceutical industries. Currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer for Greece and Cyprus at AstraZeneca, Mr. Karafyllidis brings a wealth of expertise in financial leadership, commercial acumen, and strategic planning to his role. His performance and influence in the field have earned him a place in the prestigious CFO100 powerlist. In his current position at AstraZeneca, his responsibilities encompass partnering with the senior leadership team to drive business objectives, providing high-quality financial and commercial insights, leading forecasting cycles, and managing a team of professionals across various finance functions. A notable achievement in his current role has been leading the electric vehicle (EV) transformation of the company's fleet, aligning with AstraZeneca's bold ambition regarding sustainability. Prior to his current role, Mr. Karafyllidis held the position of Senior Finance Business Partner at AstraZeneca, where he played a pivotal role in supporting key stakeholders across functions and levels to enhance efficiency and provide quality insights. Mr. Karafyllidis' career also includes significant experience at Unilever, where he held several finance positions in Greece and at the European headquarters in Rotterdam. During his tenure at Unilever, he gained valuable experience in areas of Finance such as customer development finance, business unit controlling, and financial planning and analysis at a European level. Mr. Karafyllidis holds a Master of Science in Finance and Banking from the University of Piraeus, where he was awarded an admission scholarship. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance with a specialization in Finance from the Athens University of Economics and Business. Throughout his career, Mr. Karafyllidis has demonstrated a strong commitment to driving financial performance, implementing strategic initiatives, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. As a finance leader, Mr. Karafyllidis is known for his strategic mindset, passion for embracing new challenges, and ability to drive sustainable growth.
