Nikos Dedes is a health policy advocate with over 25 years of committed engagement in patient organisations. He currently serves as General Secretary of the Greek Patients’ Association, chairs Positive Voice — the Greek association of people living with HIV — and sits on the Board of the European Patients’ Forum.
At the European level, he is a member of the Steering Committees of NEAT ID, HIV Outcomes and EuroTEST, and contributes to the EACS HIV Treatment Guidelines panel. His past roles include chairing the European AIDS Treatment Group, serving on the Management Board of the European Medicines Agency (EMA), and participating in the WHO Strategic and Technical Advisory Committee on HIV. In 2014, he was honoured with the DIA Outstanding Service Award.
Nikos brings citizens voice into policy spaces, advocating for universal, equitable, evidence-based access to care and prevention — as a moral imperative and a necessary pillar of a just and resilient society.
