Dimitris Tsesmetzoglou - CEO, Howden Greece & Cyprus Dimitris began his career in the London lnsurance Market in 1998 at Windsor Professional lndemnity. During 2002 Dimitris rnoved to BMS lnternational and launched the BMS office in Athens (2003). ln September 2006 he led the successful Management Buy Out of the BMS Hellas office from the BMS Group, which was rebranded as the MATRIX lnsurance Group. Matrix expanded its activities in over 20 countries with offices in London, Johannesburg, lstanbul, etc. During 2019 he completed the acquisition of Piraeus Bank lnsurance Brokers SA, through a strategic alliance with the Howden Broking Group, which in 2020 became the majority shareholder of the Matrix Group and rebranded to Howden Hellas & Cyprus. Howden today is the only consolidator in Greece and Cyprus and Dimitris has concluded in excess of 14 major acquisitions of insurance intermediaries, placing the company as the largest lnsurance broker in the territory. Dirnitris holds an ΜΒΑ in Maritime Management from the University of Leicester and a Bachelor of Science in lnsurance and lnvestment from the City Business School, where he also was a member of the Advisory Board for the undergraduate programs in Finance, lnvestment & lnsurance.
