Matina Charkoftaki was raised in Heraklion, Crete, and has been a journalist for the past 13 years. She studied at the Department of International and European Studies at Panteion University and later earned a master's degree in Economics. Her career in business reporting began in 2012 when she joined SBC TV, a stock market channel, where she worked for six years. She later worked at Boussias Communications, covering FOODReporter and Build, and also contributed to the Business Daily news website. In 2022, she joined the teams of Capital.gr, Kefalaio newspaper, and the Greek edition of Forbes magazine. Recently, she started working as a business journalist for Kathimerini.
