Giannis Vrentzos is the Chief Executive Officer of Alter Ego Media, the major media group and largest content creator in Greece. The Group’s portfolio includes MEGA, the #1 FTA TV channel in the country, as well as the historical and influential news media outlets TO VIMA, TA NEA and OIKONOMIKOS TACHYDROMOS (ot.gr), a financial publication, along with IN.GR, the first Greek portal launched in Greece. The Group also owns the popular radio station My Radio, the production company Alter Ego Studios, and the content company MORE MEDIA. In January 2025, Alter Ego Media completed its successful IPO on ASE.
Giannis Vrentzos has more than 18 years’ experience in finance, investments and business. He worked in the Greek investment banking sector, 2003-2009, as inter alia a director at investment banking arm of EFG Eurobank Telesis, participating in numerous M&A, IPOs and debt and corporate transactions. He subsequently joined the Marinakis Group of companies. Over the last 14 years, he has overseen numerous Group investments in the media, sports, energy and real estate sectors. In addition, between 2010 and 2017 he served as Chief Executive Officer of Olympiacos FC and between 2017 and 2021 as Chief Executive Officer of Nottingham Forest FC.
Giannis Vrentzos holds a Degree in Economics and a Master in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Piraeus.
