Antonis Kamaras (B.A., Connecticut College, M.Sc., M.Phil., LSE) is a Research Associate at ELIAMEP, Greece’s leading think tank. He has conducted extensive research, indicatively, on the state of defence studies in Greece, the reform of the Hellenic Army’s conscription system, the challenge of jointness for Greece’s armed forces, Greece’s defence sector and Greek civil-military relations. With the leadership of ELIAMEP he has organised the first ever conference to take place in a Greek university on Greece’s armed forces. He was a Research Officer of the Hellenic Observatory of the LSE and has been a co-founder of the Greek Diaspora Project at South East European Studies at Oxford – St Antony’s College, University of Oxford. He has been quoted by major media outlets, namely the Economist, The Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Guardian.
