Kyriakos Pierrakakis currently serves as Minister of Economy and Finance of the Hellenic Republic in the Cabinet of Kyriakos Mitsotakis since March 2025. He is also a Member of the Hellenic Parliament. From 2023 to 2025, Pierrakakis served as Minister of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports, where he led major legislative reforms to modernize Greece's education system. Previously, from 2019 to 2023, he served as the country's Minister of Digital Governance, spearheading Greece's digital transformation during the COVID pandemic. He was appointed Chair of the OECD’s Global Strategy Group Meeting in 2021, a role he was re-appointed to in 2024. In this capacity, he led a forum of senior officials working to shape the organization's strategic response to global challenges and fostered cooperation among OECD member states. Prior to his ministerial appointments, Pierrakakis was the Director of Research at the independent non-profit think tank diaNEOsis. Kyriakos Pierrakakis holds a Master of Science in Technology and Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (2009), a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government (2007), and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the Athens University of Economics and Business. Born in 1983 in Athens, Kyriakos Pierrakakis is married with three children. He speaks English and French.
