He was elected MP in Imathia for New Democracy Party at the elections of 2007.
At the elections of June 17th 2012, he was elected first in votes MP in Imathia for New Democracy Party.
In July 2012 he was elected Deputy Secretary of the Parliamentary Group of New Democracy.
From November 2012 he is Chairman of the Greek-Ukraine Friendship Group of Hellenic Parliament, Vice- Chairman of the Greek-Kuwaitian Friendship Group of Hellenic Parliament, and a member of the corresponding Friendship Groups with USA and Japan.
From April 2014 he is Member of the Hellenic Delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO
