Ryan Smith is a South African member of parliament serving on the committee for foreign affairs. He holds an undergraduate degree in international relations, with a postgraduate in translation and interpreting studies. After completing his training at the European Parliament, he got involved in liberal politics eventually serving as chief of staff to the leader of South Africa’s second largest party, the Democratic Alliance, before being elected to public office in 2024.
